Job Description Description Under the direct supervision of the
Business Office Manager., the incumbent holds a ---Safety
Sensitive--- position and provides front desk Medical
Billing/business services. The incumbent will screen all patients
as prescribed by Fiscal staff, collect all data which is related to
patient services, and schedule all patient appointments.
Responsible for HIPAA Compliance and providing excellent customer
service. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: A. A. Maintain a positive image
of CVIH by greeting clients in a professional manner and see to
their comfort and sense of well being during their clinic visit;
inform patients of any changes that could delay their
appointment/visit. B. Register patients, obtain all baseline data
necessary for the patient visit and follow-up appointment. Update
the medical record with insurance information, an updated copy of
insurance, eligibility, HIPPA notice, Health History, and annual
consent. Update personal information in electronic medical record,
including address, phone number, pharmacy, etc. C. Collect co-pays,
deductibles, share of cost and sliding fee payments. Records and
balances daily cash receipts and properly routes to the Fiscal
Department. D. Coordinate all patient appointments for medical
services by sign-in sheet, as required by the guidelines of CVIH.
Copy of sign in sheet to be sent to RPMS and Billing Department. E.
Notify patient by mailing letters about their missed appointments
and need to reschedule. F. Maintain patient confidentiality
according to CVIH standards and protocols. G. Responsible for
verifying eligibility for PRC, Direct Care, Insurances, and/or
Medi-Cal before patient is seen. Copies of any changes in methods
of payments must be changed in the electronic medical chart and
sent to PRC Coordinator and Billing. Insurance card is to be
scanned into the electronic medical record. H. Check out patients
by printing a visits summary and scheduling any needed
appointments. I. Responsible for cancelling/rescheduling
appointments based on provider schedule. J. Responsible for
updating all patient information in RPMS each time patient comes to
clinic including address, phone numbers, insurance and community.
K. Scan labs, imaging reports, consultation reports, hospital
reports and other daily forms from other departments and outside
providers into electronic medical records. Documents need to be
assign to the proper staff for review. L. Responsible for making
sure all documents are scanned into the correct electronic medical
record folders based on patient document folders list. M.
Responsible for checking e-faxing and house faxes to direct
documents to the proper staff. N. Responsible medical records
request for subpoenas, court orders and upon patient request. O.
Responsible for daily mail. P. Communicate in a friendly and
professional manner to others. Provide excellent service/support to
all patients, employees, and outside contacts. Q. Any other duties
assigned to the employee by the direct supervisor or CVIH
management. Requirements 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2.
Six months experience in a medical office. Medical Administration
or other relevant certificate preferred. 3. Proficiency in typing,
filing, medical terminology, and Microsoft suite. 4. Knowledge of
health insurance plans with the ability to navigate web portals. 5.
A valid California Driver---s License and clean driving record with
the ability to be insured under CVIH---s automobile insurance. 6.
Requires and awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions,
customs a socioeconomic needs; an ability at times to meet and deal
effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous
tribes with varied cultures which requires tact, courtesy,
discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling
functions of a sensitive nature. 7. ---Safety Sensitive---
positions are subject to random drug testing and are required as a
condition of continued employment. CVIH is an equal opportunity

the position. Summary This position is Monday through Friday from

organization that provides health care services to the Native
American people of the Central Valley. With 6 locations, CVIH
provides Medical, Dental, Mental Health, Public Health Nursing,
Optician and Nutrition services. CVIH was formed in 1971 and
continues to provide quality health care services to patients in
Fresno, Madera & Kings Counties.
