Job Description:
Omni Underground is rapidly expanding and hiring experienced
Directional Drillers and Locators to build out new HDD crews. If

top-tier drill operators and locators to tackle fiber, power,
telecom, and joint trench projects throughout the Central Valley.

Growth-focused. Compensation: $28 - $36 hourly Responsibilities:
For Directional Drillers: Minimum 2 years of experience operating
Vermeer or Ditch Witch HDD rigs on live utility projects Proven
ability to complete clean, accurate bores under streets, driveways,
and active utility corridors Skilled in reading bore maps,
interpreting prints, and adjusting in real-time based on soil
conditions or obstructions Strong mechanical aptitude: can
troubleshoot, load tooling, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections
Must be able to lead a drill crew , communicate clearly with
locators and ground personnel, and keep production moving Able to
maintain safety, spacing, and production targets without
sacrificing quality For Locators: Minimum 1 year of experience
using DigiTrak Falcon, SE, or Subsite systems Understands depth,
pitch, roll, and separation requirements for multiple utility types
Can track and mark bore paths clearly and accurately — in dirt,
pavement, or congested corridors Experienced in potholing, setting
up pits, pulling back product, and spotting utilities Works in sync
with the drill operator and foreman to hit production goals safely
and efficiently Comfortable assisting in other crew duties (hand
digging, cleanup, setup, minor restoration) General Requirements
(Both Positions): Valid Class A CDL Required Must pass a
pre-employment drug screen and provide a clean DMV record Able to
work outdoors in varying conditions and lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Strong work ethic, respect for teammates, and commitment to safety
Willing to travel as needed Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of
experience in directional drilling or locating on live underground
utility projects (fiber, power, gas, telecom, etc.) Proven ability
to operate Vermeer or Ditch Witch drill rigs and/or run
DigiTrak/Subsite locating systems with precision Can read utility
prints, bore maps, and white line layouts without needing constant
oversight Experience setting up and breaking down drill pits,
pulling back conduit, and managing mud flow or spoil Understands
how to hit footage goals while maintaining depth and separation
Works well in a fast-paced crew environment and communicates
clearly under pressure Must be reliable, respectful, and focused —
zero tolerance for laziness or unsafe habits Valid Class A CDL
License Ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors, and follow all
