Job Description Description Central Valley Indian Health is
seeking qualified candidates for the position of Clinical
Psychologist. The incumbent holds a ---Safety Sensitive--- position
and responsible for HIPPA Compliance The Clinical Psychologist
counsels, evaluates and helps patients identify techniques that
they can use to adapt to major changes in their lives and refer
patients to doctors and/or other specialists. Collaborates with
professionals from many different social services organizations and
government agencies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnose
psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders. Collect
information through observations, interviews, and surveys. Develop
treatment plans and retain treatment records for each client in
accordance with charting standards, both paper and electronic. Help
patients define goals and plan action to achieve personal, social,
educational and vocational development and adjustment. Test for
patterns that will help patients better understand and predict
behavior. Monitor client progress through regular meetings or
sessions. Use patients--- knowledge to increase understanding among
individuals and groups. Participate in departmental program
development, implementation and evaluation. Communicate in a
friendly and professional manner to others. Provide excellent
service/support to all patients, employees, and outside contacts.
Any other duties assigned by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH
management. COMPLIANCE: Maintain Standards of Conduct or Code of
Conduct for Health Care Compliance. Ensure productivity goals are
met. Ensure and maintain clinic schedule compliance. Maintain
eligibility as a provider for health care plans. Requirements Must
be Licensed Psychologist by the state of California. Master's
degree in Applied Behavioral Science required. Clearance from the
National Practitioners Data Bank and the California Board of
Psychology. Knowledge of office skills, typing, filing, medical
terminology, and computer literate for word processing. Valid CPR
Certificate. Knowledge of state regulations with regard to ethics,
treatment, patient rights and confidentiality preferred. A valid
California Driver---s License and clean driving record with the
ability to be insured under CVIH---s automobile insurance. Requires
and awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs a
socioeconomic needs; an ability at times to meet and deal
effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous
tribes with varied cultures which requires tact, courtesy,
discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling
functions of a sensitive nature. ---Safety Sensitive--- positions
are subject to random drug testing and are required as a condition

This is a full-time position Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00.

organization that provides health care services to the Native
American people of the Central Valley. With 6 locations, CVIH
provides Medical, Dental, Mental Health, Public Health Nursing,
Optician and Nutrition services. CVIH was formed in 1971 and
continues to provide quality health care services to patients in
Fresno, Madera & Kings Counties.
