Job Description:

Purpose of Position:Perform the preparation and distribution of payroll. Execute payroll procedures and policies for the Casino.Job Responsibilities and Duties: Performs bi-weekly payroll procedures which include: timecard auditing, payroll processing, paycheck preparation, and paycheck distribution. Perform and ensure end-of-cycle payroll procedures which include internal departmental and external tax agency reporting. Perform and ensure timely end-of-quarter payroll procedures which include internal departmental reporting and external tax agency reporting. Process timely and accurate tax payment submissions to Government Agencies. Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Verify pay rates for all new employees as well as pay rate changes extended to existing employees. Document and update and adhere to payroll procedures and record keeping methods as assigned. Respond to Team Member inquiries regarding pay status, withholdings, and/or deductions. Resolve problems through appropriate channels. Prepare for audits by financial auditors, internal auditors, and Government Agencies as assigned. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Continually monitor payroll issues which include employee encumbrances from Government agencies. Communicate with departments to obtain and provide payroll information, resolve discrepancies and correct errors. Must maintain high level of interpersonal communication with Team Members to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Understanding of Accounting as it relates to payroll transactions and adjustments. Ensure timely reporting of irregular payroll events to Manager. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Perform other duties as assigned.Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required, unless otherwise waived by Human Resources Management. Associates degree in Accounting or payroll certification preferred. Requires three (3) years of administrative expertise in Payroll for organization with 500 or more employees. Must have strong attention-to-detail, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting and Payroll Computer systems.
