Job Description Overview: The individual filling this position will be responsible for overseeing the irrigation and fertilization of the northern farming region of the Wonderful Citrus portfolio. Here’s what you’ll do: Oversee irrigation technicians collecting field measurements Make and record weekly irrigation recommendations under guidance Confer with ranch supervisors regarding irrigation and fertilization operations Monitor and record precipitation amounts and adjust irrigation schedules accordingly Formulate annual water budgets by irrigation set by irrigation district under guidance Update fertilizer recommendations annually under guidance Update irrigation set attributes when appropriate Assist in troubleshooting distribution uniformity issues Assist with maintenance of soil moisture probes Qualifications Here’s what you’ll bring to the table: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an agricultural science, e.g. soil science, plant physiology, agronomy 2 years of experience working in production agriculture including managing irrigation and fertilization An understanding of fundamental fluid dynamics A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and cooperate The ability to effectively oversee field technicians The ability to work outside in varying environmental conditions Computer proficiency, including using Office 365 applications Demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic and basic algebraic calculations A valid CA driver’s license Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
