Job Description Under the direct supervision of the Registered
Nurse, the incumbent holds a Safety Sensitive position and assists
medical staff in the provision of health care services. The
incumbent screens employees and patients as prescribed by medical
staff. Collects all data which is related to patient services. This
position primarily reports to one location, but is required to
travel with the team for mobile sites. Responsible for HIPPA
Compliance and subject to cover all CVIH sites, as needed. PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Clean rooms between each visit and at the end
of the day according to protocol. B. Prepare the patient for
medical services. C. Properly store all instruments and supplies.
D. Responsible for stocking and monitoring expired supplies. E.
Maintain patient confidentiality according to CVIH standards and
protocols. F. Responsible for Universal Precautions. Biohazardous
waste needs to be disposed of daily. G. Assist nurses with
scheduling patient appointments. H. Communicate with patients any
delays that would affect patient flow. I. Assist with contact
tracing, by calling and communicating, in a professional and
empathetic manner, with household and non-household close contacts
of COVID-19 patients. J. Assist nurses as directed with COVID-19
testing and vaccinations at mobile clinics. K. Monitor patients
post vaccine. Alert registered nurses immediately in the event of
an emergency. L. Create labels and bag all COVID-19 tests. M.
Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others.
Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and
outside contacts. K. Any other duties assigned to the employee by
direct supervisor or CVIH management.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Medical
Assistant Certificate. 3. Knowledge of office skills, typing,
filing, medical terminology, and computer literate. 4. Valid CPR
Certificate. 5. Valid California Driver License and Clean DMV
printout. 6. Requires an awareness and keen appreciation of Indian
traditions, customs a socioeconomic need; an ability at times to
meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations
consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures which requires
tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in
handling functions of a sensitive nature. 7. Safety Sensitive
positions are subject to random drug testing and are required as a
condition of continued employment.
