Job Description:
SUMMARY: The Quality Control Specialist is responsible to
performs quality assurance testing of raw materials: incoming, in
process and finished goods in accordance with established
procedures using quality control laboratory equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following reflects management's definition of essential

- Obtains samples in accordance with sampling plans
- Runs quality control tests on the bottling line or in the
cellar as needed
- Performs routine maintenance of analytical equipment, as
required
- Monitor and review QC supplies to ensure adequate inventories
and continuous operation
- Performs tests in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs)
- Uses and maintains quality control laboratory
equipment
- Records data on associated forms; enters test data into
computer databases
- Makes accept/reject decisions based on test results
- Prepares and maintains accurate data records
- Files test records and retention of product samples
- Represents department in product-related meetings
- Manages special tests and projects as assigned
- Assists in preparation and/or revision of departmental
SOP's
- Learns basic requirements of document control, calibration,
measurement and monitoring of product
- Assists personnel in product-related testing
- Assist other departments as assigned on special projects,
performing testing, and providing reports
- Utilizes LEAN principles to drive continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical
skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within
constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
and committees
- Proficient on (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
highly desirable
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet
deadlines
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis of data, laboratory
instrumentation and troubleshooting, and wine laboratory
analysis.
- Knowledge of wines and wine production
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions
- Ability to adhere to companies' 4 core standards (Trust,

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
required to do the following:
- Walk, kneel, bend, and stand
- Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Climb stairs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is mainly performed both in a normal lab environment and
in and out of doors
- Noise levels are usually moderate but may be moderate to high
at times
- A percentage of work time may be spent in a wine warehouse and
cellar where temperatures are cool and noise level is usually
moderate
- Floors may be wet and slippery, proper footwear is required
