Job Description:

Omni Underground is seeking an experienced Backhoe Operator with a strong background in underground construction to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, particularly backhoes, to excavate pits, move plates, and assist the crew in setting boxes, performing tie-ins, backfilling, and other related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of safety protocols and be able to work efficiently and accurately to help ensure project success.

Responsibilities:
--- Safely and efficiently operate backhoe and other heavy equipment as required.
--- Excavate pits, move plates, and assist the crew in various tasks such as setting boxes, performing tie-ins, and backfilling.
--- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality.
--- Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures.
--- Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members to achieve project goals.
--- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.

Qualifications:
--- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Backhoe Operator, preferably in underground construction.
--- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
--- High school diploma or equivalent.
--- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in the underground construction industry.
--- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
--- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
--- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing job site requirements.
--- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
--- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
