This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that we procure necessary materials, equipment, and supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner.   • Communicate effectively and build relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and obtaining competitive quotes.
  • Place orders for materials, equipment, and supplies, considering factors such as quality, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible prices and terms.
  • Utilize your knowledge of takeoffs to interpret project specifications accurately and determine material quantities required.
  • Coordinate the logistics of material delivery to job sites, closely monitoring schedules and ensuring efficient and timely transportation.
  • Utilize software tools such as Excel, Notion, and Buildertrend to streamline purchasing processes, track inventory, and generate reports.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, site personnel, and other stakeholders to identify material needs and ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of purchases, including order details, delivery status, and pricing information.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within the purchasing function.
  • Quickly adapt to new technologies, software platforms, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the role.Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction industry.
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with suppliers.
    • Demonstrated experience in negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.
    • Strong knowledge of takeoffs and ability to interpret project specifications accurately.
    • Proficiency in using software tools such as Excel, Notion, and Buildertrend for purchasing processes, inventory tracking, and report generation.
    • Strong understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
    • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, site personnel, and other stakeholders.
    • Strong record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain detailed records of purchases.
    • Proactive and innovative, with a strong ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, software platforms, and tools.
